History From Our Perspective

Futel Learning is an education company promoting African and African American history. Our mission is to provide educational resources, including textbooks, children's books, posters, apparel, and toys, that celebrate the rich cultural heritage of African and African American communities. Additionally, we aim to develop comprehensive Black history curricula for students and families.

Black Kids Need Black Teachers

Teaching our Own is important to our students' academic and personal success. One of the most important studies done by Cassandra Hart, an associate professor of education policy at the University of California, and her colleagues call this the Role Model Effect. We must continue to recruit, equip, and support black teachers in all fields of expertise. Futel Learning is owned and operated by a Black Educator.

“Black students who were exposed to Black teachers by third grade were 13% more likely to enroll in college.

If kids had two Black teachers by third grade, the likelihood of college enrollment jumped to 32%."

Black History is American History

Everyone knows that our History is under attack. Carter G. Woodson explained that African-American contributions  are "overlooked, ignored, and even suppressed by the writers of history textbooks and the teachers who use them." Still, in 2023, we have the same attempts and plans being developed to change America's true history. We can not let that happen and need to continue to educate the world about the past pioneers, leaders, educators, inventors, activists, and their contributions to society.
